The JAFTICA Fishing Report

"The Fishing Season Is In Full Swing With Drum fish, Flounder and Sea Bass On The Menu."

It seemed to be a slow spring for striped bass with some fish being caught early through March but slowed as April came in. Drum fishing on the other hand has been incredible with limit catches being common and some trips boating up to 30 Drum in a trip. Most Drum have been between 50 and 90 lbs. but a 110 lb. Drum was caught which broke the New Jersey state record. Drum fishing should remain good until mid June.

Flounder fishing has been productive with some nice catches in the back waters around Cape May and Wildwood. There has been a large number of flounder caught in the Delaware bay but the keeper ratio has been low, but should pick up has the water temperatures rise.

Cape May and Wildwood reefs have been holding a good number of Sea Bass with some nice size fish being caught. There has also been some flounder caught while fishing for Sea Bass.

Our first Shark trip is slated for June 11th, we will also be fishing the South Jersey Shark Tournament June 12th thru 15th. Sharking and inshore trolling for bluefish and bonito should be heating up by mid June. The season is in full swing lets go fishing!!!

I wanted to thank everyone for coming out, hope to see everyone again on board the "" JAFTICA""
